ADIPOURAM FESTIVAL
Description
"It will be conducted for 10 days in the month of Aadi, according to Tamil calendar. The first Adipouram (Flag raising) was celebrated on 20th July 1987 in Johor Bahru. On the 9th day, the chariot procession bearing Sri Vinayagar, Sri Murugan and his consorts followed by another chariot carrying Arulmigu Rajamariamman are taken around the Johor Bahru city with pomp and grandeur. The Chariot procession is the grand finale of the festival attended by about 15,000 devotees and patrons who witnessed the whole ceremony."
