Since launching its recruitment initiative, the bands have attracted numerous dedicated musicians and youth from across the country, garnering significant attention from music enthusiasts. After an initial selection and rigorous auditions, the bands have selected more than 42 outstanding members, consisting of renowned wind instrument instructors and musicians from prestigious ensembles locally and internationally.
To enhance the band's professional standards, we are honored to welcome Mr. Geoffrey Xie, General Manager of Princess Cove Sultanah Sofiah Opera House, as the ensemble’s advisor; Dr. Ng Eng Hao, Doctor of Music from Nanjing Normal University, as the Artistic Director and Principal Conductor; and Mr. Sia Huan Ping, President of the Southern Chinese Musical Society and Vice President of the Johor Bahru Music Association (Pertubuhan Peminat Muzik Johor Bahru), as the band's Executive Director.
As the first professional wind band in Johor Bahru, this vibrant and high-caliber ensemble aims to elevate its artistic quality and skills to achieve its founding mission: “Unite in Harmony, Resound in Excellence!”—establishing itself as a representative high-level professional Symphonic Band in Johor. With a commitment to the artistic philosophy of “Enlightening Life with Art,” the ensemble seeks to bring together local culture and world art, spreading the beauty of music through exceptional performances.
